Many clubs prefer to use their own domain name rather than use one of our sub-domains, we are happy to support this, in a number of ways.
The advantage of using a sub-domain is it is setup instantly and we don't charge for this, this is the reason we advise all customers to use a sub-domain initially as it is the quickest way for you to try the service.
A sub-domain will give your website an address in the format http://<yourclubname>.hitssports.com where as your own domain name will give your new website an address in the format http://www.<yourclubname>.com
If you decide you wish to go ahead with using our service we can then help you to setup your own domain, or register a new domain name on your behalf. If you already own a domain name we can advise you on how to configure it to work with your new website. If you wish us to register a domain name for you and set it up to work with your new website we will be more than happy to do so.
There is a charge of £25 to register, and setup a .com domain for a 2 year registration period, and a charge of £10 to register and setup a .co.uk domain name for the same 2 year period. The difference in price is down to the different charges incurred from the relevant registration authorities. You are welcome to register your domain name with one of the many domain name registrars available on the internet if you prefer, and can set the domain name up to work with your website yourself. The main advantage of owning your own domain name is that it looks more professional, why not make sure you register a name for your club before someone else does!
